The Seven Preliminaries for Purifying the Mind / 1. Prostration
ཇི་སྙེད་སུ་དག་ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་འཇིག་རྟེན་ན། །
jinyé su dak chok chü jikten na
To all the buddhas, the lions of the human race,
དུས་གསུམ་གཤེགས་པ་མི་ཡི་སེང་གེ་ཀུན། །
dü sum shekpa mi yi sengé kün
In all directions of the universe, through past and present and future:
བདག་གིས་མ་ལུས་དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ། །
dak gi malü dedak tamché la
To every single one of you, I bow in homage;
ལུས་དང་ངག་ཡིད་དང་བས་ཕྱག་བགྱིའོ། །
lü dang ngak yi dangwé chak gyi o
Devotion fills my body, speech and mind.
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་སྟོབས་དག་གིས། །
zangpo chöpé mönlam tob dak gi
Through the power of this prayer, aspiring to Good Action,
རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཡིད་ཀྱིས་མངོན་སུམ་དུ། །
gyalwa tamché yi kyi ngönsum du
All the victorious ones appear, vivid here before my mind
ཞིང་གི་རྡུལ་སྙེད་ལུས་རབ་བཏུད་པ་ཡིས། །
zhing gi dul nyé lü rab tüpa yi
And I multiply my body as many times as atoms in the universe,
རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་ལ་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
gyalwa kün la rabtu chaktsal lo
Each one bowing in prostration to all the buddhas.
2. Offering
རྡུལ་གཅིག་སྟེང་ན་རྡུལ་སྙེད་སངས་རྒྱས་རྣམས། །
dul chik teng na dul nyé sangye nam
In every atom preside as many buddhas as there are atoms,
སངས་རྒྱས་སྲས་ཀྱི་དབུས་ན་བཞུགས་པ་དག །
sangye sé kyi ü na zhukpa dak
And around them, all their bodhisattva heirs:
དེ་ལྟར་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབྱིངས་རྣམས་མ་ལུས་པ། །
detar chö kyi ying nam malüpa
And so I imagine them filling
ཐམས་ཅད་རྒྱལ་བ་དག་གིས་གང་བར་མོས། །
tamché gyalwa dak gi gangwar mö
Completely the entire space of reality.
དེ་དག་བསྔགས་པ་མི་ཟད་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རྣམས། །
dedak ngakpa mizé gyatso nam
Saluting them with an endless ocean of praise,
དབྱངས་ཀྱི་ཡན་ལག་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་སྒྲ་ཀུན་གྱིས། །
yang kyi yenlak gyatsö dra kün gyi
With the sounds of an ocean of different melodies
རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན་རབ་བརྗོད་ཅིང་། །
gyalwa kün gyi yönten rab jö ching
I sing of the buddhas’ noble qualities,
བདེ་བར་གཤེགས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་བདག་གིས་བསྟོད། །
dewar shekpa tamché dak gi tö
And praise all those who have gone to perfect bliss.
མེ་ཏོག་དམ་པ་ཕྲེང་བ་དམ་པ་དང་། །
metok dampa trengwa dampa dang
To every buddha, I make offerings:
སིལ་སྙན་རྣམས་དང་བྱུག་པ་གདུགས་མཆོག་དང་། །
silnyen nam dang jukpa duk chok dang
Of the loveliest flowers, of beautiful garlands,
མར་མེ་མཆོག་དང་བདུག་སྤོས་དམ་པ་ཡིས། །
marmé chok dang dukpö dampa yi
Of music and perfumed ointments, the best of parasols,
རྒྱལ་བ་དེ་དག་ལ་ནི་མཆོད་པར་བགྱི། །
gyalwa dedak la ni chöpar gyi
The brightest lamps and finest incense.
ན་བཟའ་དམ་པ་རྣམས་དང་དྲི་མཆོག་དང་། །
naza dampa nam dang dri chok dang
To every buddha, I make offerings:
ཕྱེ་མ་ཕུར་མ་རི་རབ་མཉམ་པ་དང་། །
chema purma rirab nyampa dang
Exquisite garments and the most fragrant scents,
བཀོད་པ་ཁྱད་པར་འཕགས་པའི་མཆོག་ཀུན་གྱིས། །
köpa khyepar pakpé chok kün gyi
Powdered incense, heaped as high as Mount Meru,
རྒྱལ་བ་དེ་དག་ལ་ནི་མཆོད་པར་བགྱི། །
gyalwa dedak la ni chöpar gyi
Arranged in perfect symmetry.
མཆོད་པ་གང་རྣམས་བླ་མེད་རྒྱ་ཆེ་བ། །
chöpa gang nam lamé gya chewa
Then the vast and unsurpassable offerings—
དེ་དག་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ཡང་མོས། །
dedak gyalwa tamché la yang mö
Inspired by my devotion to all the buddhas, and
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་ལ་དད་པའི་སྟོབས་དག་གིས། །
zangpo chö la depé tob dak gi
Moved by the power of my faith in Good Actions—
རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་མཆོད་པར་བགྱི། །
gyalwa kün la chaktsal chöpar gyi
I prostrate and offer to all you victorious ones.
3. Confession
འདོད་ཆགས་ཞེ་སྡང་གཏི་མུག་དབང་གིས་ནི། །
döchak zhedang timuk wang gi ni
Whatever negative acts I have committed,
ལུས་དང་ངག་དང་དེ་བཞིན་ཡིད་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་། །
lü dang ngak dang dezhin yi kyi kyang
While driven by desire, hatred and ignorance,
སྡིག་པ་བདག་གིས་བགྱིས་པ་ཅི་མཆིས་པ། །
dikpa dak gi gyipa chi chipa
With my body, my speech and also with my mind,
དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་བདག་གིས་སོ་སོར་བཤགས། །
dedak tamché dak gi sosor shak
Before you, I confess and purify each and every one.
4. Rejoicing
ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་དང་སངས་རྒྱས་སྲས། །
chok chü gyalwa kün dang sangye sé
With a heart full of delight, I rejoice at all the merits
རང་རྒྱལ་རྣམས་དང་སློབ་དང་མི་སློབ་དང་། །
ranggyal nam dang lob dang mi lob dang
Of buddhas and bodhisattvas,
འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་བསོད་ནམས་གང་ལ་ཡང་། །
drowa kün gyi sönam gangla yang
Pratyekabuddhas, those in training and the arhats beyond training,
དེ་དག་ཀུན་གྱི་རྗེས་སུ་བདག་ཡི་རང་། །
dedak kün gyi jesu dak yi rang
And every living being, throughout the entire universe.
5. Imploring the Buddhas to Turn the Wheel of Dharma
གང་རྣམས་ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་འཇིག་རྟེན་སྒྲོན་མ་རྣམས། །
gang nam chok chü jikten drönma nam
You who are like beacons of light shining through the worlds,
བྱང་ཆུབ་རིམ་པར་སངས་རྒྱས་མ་ཆགས་བརྙེས། །
changchub rimpar sangye machak nyé
Who passed through the stages of enlightenment, to attain buddhahood, freedom from all attachment,
མགོན་པོ་དེ་དག་བདག་གིས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ། །
gönpo dedak dak gi tamché la
I exhort you: all of you protectors,
འཁོར་ལོ་བླ་ན་མེད་པར་བསྐོར་བར་བསྐུལ། །
khorlo lanamepar korwar kul
Turn the unsurpassable wheel of Dharma.
6. Requesting the Buddhas Not to Enter Nirvāṇa
མྱ་ངན་འདའ་སྟོན་གང་བཞེད་དེ་དག་ལ། །
nya ngen da tön gang zhé dedak la
Joining my palms together, I pray
འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་ལ་ཕན་ཞིང་བདེ་བའི་ཕྱིར། །
drowa kün la pen zhing dewé chir
To you who intend to pass into nirvāṇa,
བསྐལ་པ་ཞིང་གི་རྡུལ་སྙེད་བཞུགས་པར་ཡང་། །
kalpa zhing gi dul nyé zhukpar yang
Remain, for aeons as many as the atoms in this world,
བདག་གིས་ཐལ་མོ་རབ་སྦྱར་གསོལ་བར་བགྱི། །
dak gi talmo rab jar solwar gyi
And bring well-being and happiness to all living beings.
7. Dedication
ཕྱག་འཚལ་བ་དང་མཆོད་ཅིང་བཤགས་པ་དང་། །
chaktsalwa dang chö ching shakpa dang
What little virtue I have gathered through my homage,
རྗེས་སུ་ཡི་རང་བསྐུལ་ཞིང་གསོལ་བ་ཡི། །
jesu yi rang kul zhing solwa yi
Through offering, confession, and rejoicing,
དགེ་བ་ཅུང་ཟད་བདག་གིས་ཅི་བསགས་པ། །
gewa chungzé dak gi chi sakpa
Through exhortation and prayer—all of it
ཐམས་ཅད་བདག་གིས་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཕྱིར་བསྔོའོ། །
tamché dak gi changchub chir ngo o
I dedicate to the enlightenment of all beings!
The Actual Aspiration / 1. Aspiration for Purity of Attitude
འདས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་རྣམས་དང་ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་ཡི། །
depé sangye nam dang chok chu yi
所suǒ有yǒu十shí方fāng世shì界jiè中zhōng
Let offerings be made to buddhas of the past,
འཇིག་རྟེན་དག་ན་གང་བཞུགས་མཆོད་པར་གྱུར། །
jikten dak na gang zhuk chöpar gyur
三sān世shì一yí切qiè人rén师shī子zǐ
And all who now dwell throughout the ten directions of this universe!
གང་ཡང་མ་བྱོན་དེ་དག་རབ་མྱུར་བར། །
gangyang majön dedak rab nyurwar
我wǒ以yǐ清qīng净jìng身shēn语yǔ意yì 一yí切qiè遍biàn礼lǐ尽jìn无wú余yú
Let all who are yet to come swiftly fulfil their wishes
བསམ་རྫོགས་བྱང་ཆུབ་རིམ་པར་སངས་རྒྱས་སྤྱོན། །
sam dzok changchub rimpar sangye chön
普pǔ贤xián行xíng愿yuàn威wēi神shén力lì
And attain the stages of enlightenment and buddhahood!
ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་ག་ལའི་ཞིང་རྣམས་ཇི་སྙེད་པ། །
chok chu galé zhing nam jinyepa
普pǔ现xiàn一yí切qiè如rú来lái前qián
Let as many worlds as there are in all the ten directions
དེ་དག་རྒྱ་ཆེར་ཡོངས་སུ་དག་པར་གྱུར། །
dedak gyacher yongsu dakpar gyur
一yì身shēn复fù现xiàn刹chà尘chén身shēn
Transform into realms that are vast and utterly pure,
བྱང་ཆུབ་ཤིང་དབང་དྲུང་གཤེགས་རྒྱལ་བ་དང་། །
changchub shingwang drung shek gyalwa dang
一yī一yī遍biàn礼lǐ刹chà尘chén佛fó
Filled with buddhas who have sat before the mighty bodhi tree,
སངས་རྒྱས་སྲས་ཀྱིས་རབ་ཏུ་གང་བར་ཤོག །
sangye sé kyi rabtu gangwar shok
于yú一yì尘chén中zhōng尘chén数shù佛fó 各gè处chù菩pú萨sà众zhòng会huì中zhōng
Around them all their bodhisattva sons and daughters!
ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་སེམས་ཅན་གང་རྣམས་ཇི་སྙེད་པ། །
chok chü semchen gang nam jinyé pa
无wú尽jìn法fǎ界jiè尘chén亦yì然rán
Let as many sentient beings as there are in all the ten directions
དེ་དག་རྟག་ཏུ་ནད་མེད་བདེ་བར་གྱུར། །
dedak taktu nemé dewar gyur
深shēn信xìn诸zhū佛fó皆jiē充chōng满mǎn
Live always and forever in happiness and health!
འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དོན་རྣམས་ནི། །
drowa kün gyi chö kyi dön nam ni
各gè以yǐ一yí切qiè音yīn声shēng海hǎi
Let all beings meet the Dharma
མཐུན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིང་རེ་བའང་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག །
tünpar gyur ching rewa ang drubpar shok
普pǔ出chū无wú尽jìn妙miào言yán词cí
That befits them best! And so may all they hope for be fulfilled!
2. Aspiration Never to Forget the Bodhicitta
བྱང་ཆུབ་སྤྱོད་པ་དག་ནི་བདག་སྤྱོད་ཅིང་། །
changchub chöpa dak ni dak chö ching
尽jìn于yú未wèi来lái一yí切qiè劫jié 赞zàn佛fó甚shèn深shēn功gōng德dé海hǎi
As I practise the training for enlightenment,
འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྐྱེ་བ་དྲན་པར་གྱུར། །
drowa küntu kyewa drenpar gyur
以yǐ诸zhū最zuì胜shèng妙miào华huā鬘mán
May I recall all my previous births,
ཚེ་རབས་ཀུན་ཏུ་འཆི་འཕོ་སྐྱེ་བ་ན། །
tserab küntu chipo kyewa na
伎jì乐yuè涂tú香xiāng及jí伞sǎn盖gài
And in my successive lives, through death and through rebirth,
རྟག་ཏུ་བདག་ནི་རབ་ཏུ་འབྱུང་བར་ཤོག །
taktu dak ni rabtu jungwar shok
如rú是shì最zuì胜shèng庄zhuāng严yán具jù
May I always renounce the worldly life!
རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་རྗེས་སུ་སློབ་གྱུར་ཏེ། །
gyalwa kün gyi jesu lob gyur té
我wǒ以yǐ供gòng养yǎng诸zhū如rú来lái
Training in the footsteps of all the victorious buddhas,
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
zangpo chöpa yongsu dzok jé ching
最zuì胜shèng衣yī服fú最zuì胜shèng香xiāng 末mò香xiāng烧shāo香xiāng与yǔ灯dēng烛zhú
May I bring Good Actions to perfection,
ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་སྤྱོད་པ་དྲི་མེད་ཡོངས་དག་པ། །
tsultrim chöpa drimé yong dakpa
一yī一yī皆jiē如rú妙miào高gāo聚jù
And my moral conduct be taintless and pure,
རྟག་ཏུ་མ་ཉམས་སྐྱོན་མེད་སྤྱོད་པར་ཤོག །
taktu manyam kyönmé chöpar shok
我wǒ悉xī供gòng养yǎng诸zhū如rú来lái
Never lapsing, and always free from fault!
ལྷ་ཡི་སྐད་དང་ཀླུ་དང་གནོད་སྦྱིན་སྐད། །
lha yi ké dang lu dang nöjin ké
我wǒ以yǐ广guǎng大dà胜shèng解jiě心xīn
In the language of the gods, nāgas, and yakṣas,
གྲུལ་བུམ་དག་དང་མི་ཡི་སྐད་རྣམས་དང་། །
drulbum dak dang mi yi ké nam dang
深shēn信xìn一yí切qiè三sān世shì佛fó 悉xī以yǐ普pǔ贤xián行xíng愿yuàn力lì
In the language of demons and of humans too,
འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་སྒྲ་རྣམས་ཇི་ཙམ་པར། །
drowa kün gyi dra nam ji tsampar
普pǔ遍biàn供gòng养yǎng诸zhū如rú来lái
In however many kinds of speech there may be—
ཐམས་ཅད་སྐད་དུ་བདག་གིས་ཆོས་བསྟན་ཏོ། །
tamché ké du dak gi chö ten to
我wǒ昔xī所suǒ造zào诸zhū恶è业yè
I shall proclaim the Dharma in the language of all!
དེས་ཤིང་ཕ་རོལ་ཕྱིན་ལ་རབ་བརྩོན་ཏེ། །
dé shing parol chin la rab tsön té
皆jiē由yóu无wú始shǐ贪tān嗔chēn痴chī
Taming my mind, and striving in the pāramitās,
བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ནི་ནམ་ཡང་བརྗེད་མ་གྱུར། །
changchub sem ni namyang jé magyur
从cóng身shēn语yǔ意yì之zhī所suǒ生shēng
I will never forget the bodhicitta;
སྡིག་པ་གང་རྣམས་སྒྲིབ་པར་གྱུར་པ་དག །
dikpa gang nam dribpar gyurpa dak
一yí切qiè我wǒ今jīn皆jiē忏chàn悔huǐ 十shí方fāng一yí切qiè诸zhū众zhòng生shēng
May all my harmful actions and the obscurations they cause
དེ་དག་མ་ལུས་ཡོངས་སུ་བྱང་བར་ཤོག །
dedak malü yongsu jangwar shok
二èr乘shèng有yǒu学xué及jí无wú学xué
Be completely purified, every single one!
3. Aspiration to Be Free from Defilements
ལས་དང་ཉོན་མོངས་བདུད་ཀྱི་ལས་རྣམས་ལས། །
lé dang nyönmong dü kyi lé nam lé
一yí切qiè如rú来lái与yǔ菩pú萨sà
May I be freed from karma, harmful emotions, and the work of negativity,
གྲོལ་ཞིང་འཇིག་རྟེན་འགྲོ་བ་རྣམས་སུ་ཡང་། །
drol zhing jikten drowa nam su yang
所suǒ有yǒu功gōng德dé皆jiē随suí喜xǐ
And act for all beings in the world,
ཇི་ལྟར་པདྨོ་ཆུས་མི་ཆགས་པ་བཞིན། །
jitar pemo chü michakpa zhin
十shí方fāng所suǒ有yǒu世shì间jiān灯dēng
Just like the lotus flower to which mud and water cannot cling,
ཉི་ཟླ་ནམ་མཁར་ཐོགས་པ་མེད་ལྟར་སྤྱད། །
nyida namkhar tokpamé tar ché
最zuì初chū成chéng就jiù菩pú提tí者zhě 我wǒ今jīn一yí切qiè皆jiē劝quàn请qǐng
Or sun and moon that course unhindered through the sky.
4. Aspiration to Lead Beings to Happiness
ཞིང་གི་ཁྱོན་དང་ཕྱོགས་རྣམས་ཅི་ཙམ་པར། །
zhing gi khyön dang chok nam chi tsampar
转zhuǎn于yú无wú上shàng妙miào法fǎ轮lún
Throughout the reach and range of the entire universe
ངན་སོང་སྡུག་བསྔལ་རབ་ཏུ་ཞི་བར་བྱེད། །
ngensong dukngal rabtu zhiwar jé
诸zhū佛fó若ruò欲yù示shì涅niè槃pán
I shall pacify completely the suffering of all the lower realms,
བདེ་བ་དག་ལ་འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་འགོད་ཅིང་། །
dewa dak la drowa kün gö ching
我wǒ悉xī至zhì诚chéng而ér劝quàn请qǐng
I shall lead all beings to happiness,
འགྲོ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ནི་ཕན་པར་སྤྱད། །
drowa tamché la ni penpar ché
唯wéi愿yuàn久jiǔ住zhù刹chà尘chén劫jié
And work for the ultimate benefit of each and every one!
5. Aspiration to Wear the Armour of Dedication
བྱང་ཆུབ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
changchub chöpa yongsu dzokjé ching
利lì乐lè一yí切qiè诸zhū众zhòng生shēng 所suǒ有yǒu礼lǐ赞zàn供gòng养yǎng福fú
I shall bring enlightened action to perfection,
སེམས་ཅན་དག་གི་སྤྱོད་དང་མཐུན་པར་འཇུག །
semchen dak gi chö dang tünpar juk
请qǐng佛fó住zhù世shì转zhuǎn法fǎ轮lún
Serve beings so as to suit their needs,
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་དག་ནི་རབ་སྟོན་ཅིང་། །
zangpo chöpa dak ni rab tön ching
随suí喜xǐ忏chàn悔huǐ诸zhū善shàn根gēn
Teach them to accomplish Good Actions,
མ་འོངས་བསྐལ་པ་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྤྱོད་པར་གྱུར། །
ma ong kalpa küntu chöpar gyur
回huí向xiàng众zhòng生shēng及jí佛fó道dào
And continue this, throughout all the aeons to come!
6. Aspiration to Accompany Other Bodhisattvas
བདག་གི་སྤྱོད་དང་མཚུངས་པར་གང་སྤྱོད་པ། །
dak gi chö dang tsungpar gang chöpa
我wǒ随suí一yí切qiè如rú来lái学xué
May I always meet and be accompanied by
དེ་དག་དང་ནི་རྟག་ཏུ་འགྲོགས་པར་ཤོག །
dedak dang ni taktu drokpar shok
修xiū习xí普pǔ贤xián圆yuán满mǎn行xíng 供gòng养yǎng过guò去qù诸zhū如rú来lái
Those whose actions accord with mine;
ལུས་དང་ངག་རྣམས་དང་ནི་སེམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་། །
lü dang ngak nam dang ni sem kyi kyang
及jí与yǔ现xiàn在zài十shí方fāng佛fó
And in body, speech and mind as well,
སྤྱོད་པ་དག་དང་སྨོན་ལམ་གཅིག་ཏུ་སྤྱད། །
chöpa dak dang mönlam chik tu ché
未wèi来lái一yí切qiè天tiān人rén师shī
May our actions and aspirations always be one!
7. Aspiration to Have Virtuous Teachers and to Please Them
བདག་ལ་ཕན་པར་འདོད་པའི་གྲོགས་པོ་དག །
dak la penpar döpé drokpo dak
一yí切qiè意yì乐lè皆jiē圆yuán满mǎn
May I always meet spiritual friends
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་རབ་ཏུ་སྟོན་པ་རྣམས། །
zangpo chöpa rabtu tönpa nam
我wǒ愿yuàn普pǔ随suí三sān世shì学xué
Who long to be of true help to me,
དེ་དག་དང་ཡང་རྟག་ཏུ་ཕྲད་པར་ཤོག །
dedak dang yang taktu trepar shok
速sù得dé成chéng就jiù大dà菩pú提tí 所suǒ有yǒu十shí方fāng一yí切qiè刹chà
And who teach me the Good Actions;
དེ་དག་བདག་གིས་ནམ་ཡང་ཡིད་མི་དབྱུང་། །
dedak dak gi namyang yi miyung
广guǎng大dà清qīng净jìng妙miào庄zhuāng严yán
Never will I disappoint them!
8. Aspiration to See the Buddhas and Serve Them in Person
སངས་རྒྱས་སྲས་ཀྱིས་བསྐོར་བའི་མགོན་པོ་རྣམས། །
sangye sé kyi korwé gönpo nam
众zhòng会huì围wéi绕rào诸zhū如rú来lái
May I always behold the buddhas, here before my eyes,
མངོན་སུམ་རྟག་ཏུ་བདག་གིས་རྒྱལ་བ་བལྟ། །
ngönsum taktu dak gi gyalwa ta
悉xī在zài菩pú提tí树shù王wáng下xià
And around them all their bodhisattva sons and daughters.
མ་འོངས་བསྐལ་པ་ཀུན་ཏུ་མི་སྐྱོ་བར། །
ma ong kalpa küntu mikyowar
十shí方fāng所suǒ有yǒu诸zhū众zhòng生shēng 愿yuàn离lí忧yōu患huàn常cháng安ān乐lè
Without ever tiring, throughout all the aeons to come,
དེ་དག་ལ་ཡང་མཆོད་པ་རྒྱ་ཆེར་བགྱི། །
dedak la yang chöpa gyacher gyi
我wǒ为wèi菩pú提tí修xiū行xíng时shí
May the offerings I make them be endless and vast!
9. Aspiration to Keep the Dharma Thriving
རྒྱལ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་འཛིན་ཅིང་། །
gyalwa nam kyi dampé chö dzin ching
一yí切qiè趣qù中zhōng成chéng宿sù命mìng
May I maintain the sacred teachings of the buddhas,
བྱང་ཆུབ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྣང་བར་བྱེད། །
changchub chöpa küntu nangwar jé
常cháng得dé出chū家jiā修xiū净jìng戒jiè
And cause enlightened action to appear;
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་རྣམ་པར་སྦྱོང་བ་ཡང་། །
zangpo chöpa nampar jongwa yang
无wú垢gòu无wú破pò无wú穿chuān漏lòu
May I train to perfection in Good Actions,
མ་འོངས་བསྐལ་པ་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྤྱད་པར་བགྱི། །
ma ong kalpa küntu chepar gyi
天tiān龙lóng夜yè叉chā鸠jiū槃pán荼tú 乃nǎi至zhì人rén与yǔ非fēi人rén等děng
And practise these in every age to come!
10. Aspiration to Acquire Inexhaustible Treasure
སྲིད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་ཡང་འཁོར་བ་ན། །
sipa tamché du yang khorwa na
所suǒ有yǒu一yí切qiè众zhòng生shēng语yǔ
As I wander through all states of samsaric existence,
བསོད་ནམས་ཡེ་ཤེས་དག་ནི་མི་ཟད་བརྙེས། །
sönam yeshe dak ni mizé nyé
悉xī以yǐ诸zhū音yīn而ér说shuō法fǎ
May I gather inexhaustible merit and wisdom,
ཐབས་དང་ཤེས་རབ་ཏིང་འཛིན་རྣམ་ཐར་དང་། །
tab dang sherab tingdzin namtar dang
勤qín修xiū清qīng净jìng波bō罗luó蜜mì
And so become an inexhaustible treasury of noble qualities—
ཡོན་ཏན་ཀུན་གྱི་མི་ཟད་མཛོད་དུ་གྱུར། །
yönten kün gyi mizé dzö du gyur
恒héng不bù忘wàng失shī菩pú提tí心xīn
Of skill and discernment, samādhi and liberation!
11. Aspiration to the Different Methods for Entering into the “Good Actions”
རྡུལ་གཅིག་སྟེང་ན་རྡུལ་སྙེད་ཞིང་རྣམས་ཏེ། །
dul chik teng na dul nyé zhing nam té
灭miè除chú障zhàng垢gòu无wú有yǒu余yú 一yí切qiè妙miào行xíng皆jiē成chéng就jiù
In a single atom may I see as many pure realms as atoms in the universe:
ཞིང་དེར་བསམ་གྱིས་མི་ཁྱབ་སངས་རྒྱས་རྣམས། །
zhing der sam gyi mikhyab sangye nam
于yú诸zhū惑huò业yè及jí魔mó境jìng
And in each realm, buddhas beyond all imagining,
སངས་རྒྱས་སྲས་ཀྱི་དབུས་ན་བཞུགས་པ་ལ། །
sangye sé kyi ü na zhukpa la
世shì间jiān道dào中zhōng得dé解jiě脱tuō
Encircled by all their bodhisattva heirs.
བྱང་ཆུབ་སྤྱད་པ་སྤྱོད་ཅིང་བལྟ་བར་བགྱི། །
changchub chepa chö ching tawar gyi
犹yóu如rú莲lián华huā不bù著zhuó水shuǐ
Along with them, may I perform the actions of enlightenment!
དེ་ལྟར་མ་ལུས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཕྱོགས་སུ་ཡང་། །
detar malü tamché chok su yang
亦yì如rú日rì月yuè不bú住zhù空kōng
And so, in each direction, everywhere,
སྐྲ་ཙམ་ཁྱོན་ལ་དུས་གསུམ་ཚད་སྙེད་ཀྱི། །
tra tsam khyön la dü sum tsé nyé kyi
悉xī除chú一yí切qiè恶è道dào苦kǔ 等děng与yǔ一yí切qiè群qún生shēng乐lè
Even on the tip of a hair, may I see an ocean of buddhas—
སངས་རྒྱས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཞིང་རྣམས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་དང་། །
sangye gyatso zhing nam gyatso dang
如rú是shì经jīng于yú刹chà尘chén劫jié
All to come in past, present and future—in an ocean of pure realms,
བསྐལ་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་སྤྱོད་ཅིང་རབ་ཏུ་འཇུག །
kalpa gyatso chö ching rabtu juk
十shí方fāng利lì益yì恒héng无wú尽jìn
And throughout an ocean of aeons, may I enter into enlightened action in each and every one!
གསུང་གཅིག་ཡན་ལག་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་སྒྲ་སྐད་ཀྱིས། །
sung chik yenlak gyatsö draké kyi
我wǒ常cháng随suí顺shùn诸zhū众zhòng生shēng
Each single word of a buddha’s speech, that voice with its ocean of qualities,
རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་དབྱངས་ཡན་ལག་རྣམ་དག་པ། །
gyalwa kün yang yenlak namdakpa
尽jìn于yú未wèi来lái一yí切qiè劫jié
Bears all the purity of the speech of all the buddhas,
འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་བསམ་པ་ཇི་བཞིན་དབྱངས། །
drowa kün gyi sampa jizhin yang
恒héng修xiū普pǔ贤xián广guǎng大dà行xíng 圆yuán满mǎn无wú上shàng大dà菩pú提tí
Sounds that harmonize with the minds of all living beings:
སངས་རྒྱས་གསུང་ལ་རྟག་ཏུ་འཇུག་པར་བགྱི། །
sangye sung la taktu jukpar gyi
所suǒ有yǒu与yǔ我wǒ同tóng行xíng者zhě
May I always be engaged with the speech of the buddhas!
དུས་གསུམ་གཤེགས་པའི་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་དག །
dü sum shekpé gyalwa tamché dak
于yú一yí切qiè处chù同tóng集jí会huì
With all the power of my mind, may I hear and realize
འཁོར་ལོའི་ཚུལ་རྣམས་རབ་ཏུ་བསྐོར་བ་ཡི། །
khorlö tsul nam rabtu korwa yi
身shēn口kǒu意yì业yè皆jiē同tóng等děng
The inexhaustible melody of the teachings spoken by
དེ་དག་གི་ཡང་གསུང་དབྱངས་མི་ཟད་ལ། །
dedak gi yang sung yang mizé la
一yí切qiè行xíng愿yuàn同tóng修xiū学xué
All the buddhas of past, present and future,
བློ་ཡི་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་བདག་ཀྱང་རབ་ཏུ་འཇུག །
lo yi tob kyi dak kyang rabtu juk
所suǒ有yǒu益yì我wǒ善shàn知zhī识shí 为wèi我wǒ显xiǎn示shì普pǔ贤xián行xíng
As they turn the wheels of Dharma!
མ་འོངས་བསྐལ་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འཇུག་པར་ཡང་། །
ma ong kalpa tamché jukpar yang
常cháng愿yuàn与yǔ我wǒ同tóng集jí会huì
Just as the wisdom of the buddhas penetrates all future aeons,
སྐད་ཅིག་གཅིག་གིས་བདག་ཀྱང་འཇུག་པར་བགྱི། །
kechik chik gi dak kyang jukpar gyi
于yú我wǒ常cháng生shēng欢huān喜xǐ心xīn
So may I too know them, instantly,
གང་ཡང་བསྐལ་པ་དུས་གསུམ་ཚད་དེ་དག །
gangyang kalpa dü sum tsé dedak
愿yuàn常cháng面miàn见jiàn诸zhū如rú来lái
And in each fraction of an instant may I know
སྐད་ཅིག་ཆ་ཤས་ཀྱིས་ནི་ཞུགས་པར་སྤྱད། །
kechik chashé kyi ni zhukpar ché
及jí诸zhū佛fó子zǐ众zhòng围wéi绕rào
All that will ever be, in past, present and future!
དུས་གསུམ་གཤེགས་པ་མི་ཡི་སེང་གེ་གང་། །
dü sum shekpa mi yi sengé gang
于yú彼bǐ皆jiē兴xīng广guǎng大dà供gòng 尽jìn未wèi来lái劫jié无wú疲pí厌yàn
In an instant, may I behold all those who are the lions of the human race—
དེ་དག་སྐད་ཅིག་གཅིག་ལ་བདག་གིས་བལྟ། །
dedak kechik chik la dak gi ta
愿yuàn持chí诸zhū佛fó微wéi妙miào法fǎ
The buddhas of past, present and future!
རྟག་ཏུ་དེ་དག་གི་ནི་སྤྱོད་ཡུལ་ལ། །
taktu dedak gi ni chöyul la
光guāng显xiǎn一yí切qiè菩pú提tí行xíng
May I always be engaged in the buddhas’ way of life and action,
སྒྱུ་མར་གྱུར་པའི་རྣམ་ཐར་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་འཇུག །
gyumar gyurpé namtar tob kyi juk
究jiū竟jìng清qīng净jìng普pǔ贤xián道dào
Through the power of liberation, where all is realized as like an illusion!
གང་ཡང་དུས་གསུམ་དག་གི་ཞིང་བཀོད་པ། །
gangyang dü sum dak gi zhing köpa
尽jìn未wèi来lái劫jié常cháng修xiū习xí
On a single atom, may I actually bring about
དེ་དག་རྡུལ་གཅིག་སྟེང་དུ་མངོན་པར་བསྒྲུབ། །
dedak dul chik tengdu ngönpar drub
我wǒ于yú一yí切qiè诸zhū有yǒu中zhōng 所suǒ修xiū福fú智zhì恒héng无wú尽jìn
The entire array of pure realms of past, of present and future;
དེ་ལྟར་མ་ལུས་ཕྱོགས་རྣམས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ། །
detar malü chok nam tamché du
定dìng慧huì方fāng便biàn及jí解jiě脱tuō
And then enter into those pure buddha realms
རྒྱལ་བ་དག་གི་ཞིང་རྣམས་བཀོད་ལ་འཇུག །
gyalwa dak gi zhing nam kö la juk
获huò诸zhū无wú尽jìn功gōng德dé藏zàng
In each atom, and in each and every direction.
གང་ཡང་མ་བྱོན་འཇིག་རྟེན་སྒྲོན་མ་རྣམས། །
gangyang majön jikten drönma nam
一yì尘chén中zhōng有yǒu尘chén数shù刹chà
When those who illuminate the world, still to come,
དེ་དག་རིམ་པར་འཚང་རྒྱ་འཁོར་ལོ་བསྐོར། །
dedak rimpar tsang gya khorlo kor
一yī一yī刹chà有yǒu难nán思sī佛fó 一yī一yī佛fó处chù众zhòng会huì中zhōng
Gradually attain buddhahood, turn the Wheel of Dharma,
མྱ་ངན་འདས་པ་རབ་ཏུ་ཞི་མཐའ་སྟོན། །
nya ngen depa rabtu zhi ta tön
我wǒ见jiàn恒héng演yǎn菩pú提tí行xíng
And demonstrate the final, profound peace of nirvāṇa:
མགོན་པོ་ཀུན་གྱི་དྲུང་དུ་བདག་མཆི་འོ། །
gönpo kün gyi drung du dak chi o
普pǔ尽jìn十shí方fāng诸zhū刹chà海hǎi
May I be always in their presence!
12. Aspiration to the Power of Enlightenment through Nine Powers
ཀུན་ཏུ་མྱུར་བའི་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་སྟོབས་རྣམས་དང་། །
küntu nyurwé dzutrul tob nam dang
一yī一yī毛máo端duān三sān世shì海hǎi
Through the power of swift miracles,
ཀུན་ནས་སྒོ་ཡི་ཐེག་པའི་སྟོབས་དག་དང་། །
künné go yi tekpé tob dak dang
佛fó海hǎi及jí与yǔ国guó土tǔ海hǎi
The power of the vehicle, like a doorway,
ཀུན་ཏུ་ཡོན་ཏན་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྟོབས་རྣམས་དང་། །
küntu yönten chöpé tob nam dang
我wǒ遍biàn修xiū行xíng经jīng劫jié海hǎi 一yí切qiè如rú来lái语yǔ清qīng净jìng
The power of conduct that possesses all virtuous qualities,
ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱབ་པ་བྱམས་པ་དག་གི་སྟོབས། །
küntu khyabpa jampa dak gi tob
一yì言yán具jù众zhòng音yīn声shēng海hǎi
The power of loving kindness, all-pervasive,
ཀུན་ནས་དགེ་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་སྟོབས་དག་དང་། །
künné gewé sönam tob dak dang
随suí诸zhū众zhòng生shēng意yì乐lè音yīn
The power of merit that is totally virtuous,
ཆགས་པ་མེད་པར་གྱུར་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྟོབས། །
chakpa mepar gyurpé yeshe tob
一yī一yī流liú佛fó辩biàn才cái海hǎi
The power of wisdom free from attachment, and
ཤེས་རབ་ཐབས་དང་ཏིང་འཛིན་སྟོབས་དག་གིས། །
sherab tab dang tingdzin tob dak gi
三sān世shì一yí切qiè诸zhū如rú来lái
The powers of knowledge, skilful means and samādhi,
བྱང་ཆུབ་སྟོབས་རྣམས་ཡང་དག་སྒྲུབ་པར་བྱེད། །
changchub tob nam yangdak drubpar jé
于yú彼bǐ无wú尽jìn语yǔ言yán海hǎi 恒héng转zhuǎn理lǐ趣qù妙miào法fǎ轮lún
May I perfectly accomplish the power of enlightenment!
13. Aspiration to the Antidotes that Pacify the Obscurations
ལས་ཀྱི་སྟོབས་རྣམས་ཡོངས་སུ་དག་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
lé kyi tob nam yongsu dakjé ching
我wǒ深shēn智zhì力lì普pǔ能néng入rù
May I purify the power of karma;
ཉོན་མོངས་སྟོབས་རྣམས་ཀུན་ཏུ་འཇོམས་པར་བྱེད། །
nyönmong tob nam küntu jompar jé
我wǒ能néng深shēn入rù于yú未wèi来lái
Destroy the power of harmful emotions;
བདུད་ཀྱི་སྟོབས་རྣམས་སྟོབས་མེད་རབ་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
dü kyi tob nam tobmé rabjé ching
尽jìn一yí切qiè劫jié为wéi一yí念niàn
Render negativity utterly powerless;
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྟོབས་ནི་རྫོགས་པར་བགྱི། །
zangpo chöpé tob ni dzokpar gyi
三sān世shì所suǒ有yǒu一yí切qiè劫jié
And perfect the power of Good Actions!
14. Aspiration to Enlightened Activities
ཞིང་རྣམས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རྣམ་པར་དག་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
zhing nam gyatso nampar dakjé ching
为wéi一yí念niàn际jì我wǒ皆jiē入rù 我wǒ于yú一yí念niàn见jiàn三sān世shì
I shall purify oceans of realms;
སེམས་ཅན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་དག་ནི་རྣམ་པར་སྒྲོལ། །
semchen gyatso dak ni nampar drol
所suǒ有yǒu一yí切qiè人rén师shī子zǐ
Liberate oceans of sentient beings;
ཆོས་རྣམས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རབ་ཏུ་མཐོང་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
chö nam gyatso rabtu tongjé ching
亦yì常cháng入rù佛fó境jìng界jiè中zhōng
Understand oceans of Dharma;
ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རབ་ཏུ་རྟོགས་པར་བྱེད། །
yeshe gyatso rabtu tokpar jé
如rú幻huàn解jiě脱tuō及jí威wēi力lì
Realize oceans of wisdom;
སྤྱོད་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རྣམ་པར་དག་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
chöpa gyatso nampar dakjé ching
于yú一yì毛máo端duān极jí微wēi中zhōng
Perfect oceans of actions;
སྨོན་ལམ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པར་བྱེད། །
mönlam gyatso yongsu dzokpar jé
出chū现xiàn三sān世shì庄zhuāng严yán刹chà 十shí方fāng尘chén刹chà诸zhū毛máo端duān
Fulfil oceans of aspirations;
སངས་རྒྱས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རབ་ཏུ་མཆོད་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
sangye gyatso rabtu chöjé ching
我wǒ皆jiē深shēn入rù而ér严yán净jìng
Serve oceans of buddhas!
བསྐལ་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་མི་སྐྱོ་སྤྱད་པར་བགྱི། །
kalpa gyatso mikyo chepar gyi
所suǒ有yǒu未wèi来lái照zhào世shì灯dēng
And perform these, without ever growing weary, through oceans of aeons!
15. Aspiration for Training
གང་ཡང་དུས་གསུམ་གཤེགས་པའི་རྒྱལ་བ་ཡི། །
gangyang dü sum shekpé gyalwa yi
成chéng道dào转zhuǎn法fǎ悟wù群qún有yǒu
All the buddhas throughout the whole of time,
བྱང་ཆུབ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་བྱེ་བྲག་རྣམས། །
changchub chöpé mönlam jedrak nam
究jiū竟jìng佛fó事shì示shì涅niè槃pán
Attained enlightenment through Good Actions, and
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སངས་རྒྱས་ནས། །
zangpo chöpé changchub sangye né
我wǒ皆jiē往wǎng诣yì而ér亲qīn近jìn 速sù疾jí周zhōu遍biàn神shén通tōng力lì
Their prayers and aspirations for enlightened action:
དེ་ཀུན་བདག་གིས་མ་ལུས་རྫོགས་པར་བགྱི། །
dé kün dak gi malü dzokpar gyi
普pǔ门mén遍biàn入rù大dà乘shèng力lì
May I fulfil them all completely!
རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་སྲས་ཀྱི་ཐུ་བོ་པ། །
gyalwa kün gyi sé kyi tuwopa
智zhì行xíng普pǔ修xiū功gōng德dé力lì
The eldest of the sons of all the buddhas
གང་གི་མིང་ནི་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་ཞེས་བྱ། །
gang gi ming ni kuntuzang zheja
威wēi神shén普pǔ覆fù大dà慈cí力lì
Is called Samantabhadra: ‘All-good’—
མཁས་པ་དེ་དང་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱད་པའི་ཕྱིར། །
khepa dé dang tsungpar chepé chir
遍biàn净jìng庄zhuāng严yán胜shèng福fú力lì 无wú著zhuó无wú依yī智zhì慧huì力lì
So that I may act with a skill like his,
དགེ་བ་འདི་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་རབ་ཏུ་བསྔོ། །
gewa didak tamché rabtu ngo
定dìng慧huì方fāng便biàn威wēi神shén力lì
I dedicate fully all these merits!
ལུས་དང་ངག་དང་ཡིད་ཀྱང་རྣམ་དག་ཅིང་། །
lü dang ngak dang yi kyang namdak ching
普pǔ能néng积jī集jí菩pú提tí力lì
To purify my body, my speech and my mind as well,
སྤྱོད་པ་རྣམ་དག་ཞིང་རྣམས་ཡོངས་དག་པ། །
chöpa namdak zhing nam yong dakpa
清qīng净jìng一yí切qiè善shàn业yè力lì
To purify my actions, and all realms,
བསྔོ་བ་བཟང་པོ་མཁས་པ་ཅི་འདྲ་བ། །
ngowa zangpo khepa chindrawa
摧cuī灭miè一yí切qiè烦fán恼nǎo力lì
May I be the equal of Samantabhadra
དེ་འདྲར་བདག་ཀྱང་དེ་དང་མཚུངས་པར་ཤོག །
dendrar dak kyang dé dang tsungpar shok
降xiáng伏fú一yí切qiè诸zhū魔mó力lì 圆yuán满mǎn普pǔ贤xián诸zhū行xíng力lì
In his skill in good dedication!
ཀུན་ནས་དགེ་བ་བཟང་པོ་སྤྱད་པའི་ཕྱིར། །
künné gewa zangpo chepé chir
普pǔ能néng严yán净jìng诸zhū刹chà海hǎi
In order to perform the full virtue of Good Actions,
འཇམ་དཔལ་གྱི་ནི་སྨོན་ལམ་སྤྱད་པར་བགྱི། །
jampal gyi ni mönlam chepar gyi
解jiě脱tuō一yí切qiè众zhòng生shēng海hǎi
I shall act according to Mañjuśrī's prayers of aspiration,
མ་འོངས་བསྐལ་པ་ཀུན་ཏུ་མི་སྐྱོ་བར། །
ma ong kalpa küntu mikyowar
善shàn能néng分fēn别bié诸zhū法fǎ海hǎi
And without ever growing weary, in all the aeons to come,
དེ་ཡི་བྱ་བ་མ་ལུས་རྫོགས་པར་བགྱི། །
dé yi jawa malü dzokpar gyi
能néng甚shèn深shēn入rù智zhì慧huì海hǎi
I shall perfectly fulfil every one of his aims!
16. Concluding Aspiration
སྤྱོད་པ་དག་ནི་ཚད་ཡོད་མ་གྱུར་ཅིག །
chöpa dak ni tsé yö magyur chik
普pǔ能néng清qīng净jìng诸zhū行xíng海hǎi 圆yuán满mǎn一yí切qiè诸zhū愿yuàn海hǎi
Let my bodhisattva acts be beyond measure!
ཡོན་ཏན་རྣམས་ཀྱང་ཚད་བཟུང་མེད་པར་ཤོག །
yönten nam kyang tsé zung mepar shok
亲qīn近jìn供gòng养yǎng诸zhū佛fó海hǎi
Let my enlightened qualities be measureless too!
སྤྱོད་པ་ཚད་མེད་པ་ལ་གནས་ནས་ཀྱང་། །
chöpa tsemepa la né né kyang
修xiū行xíng无wú倦juàn经jīng劫jié海hǎi
Keeping to this immeasurable activity,
དེ་དག་འཕྲུལ་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འཚལ་བར་བགྱི། །
dedak trulpa tamché tsalwar gyi
三sān世shì一yí切qiè诸zhū如rú来lái

Extent of the Aspiration
ནམ་མཁའི་མཐར་ཐུག་གྱུར་པ་ཇི་ཙམ་པར། །
namkhé tartuk gyurpa ji tsampar
最zuì胜shèng菩pú提tí诸zhū行xíng愿yuàn
Sentient beings are as limitless
སེམས་ཅན་མ་ལུས་མཐའ་ཡང་དེ་བཞིན་ཏེ། །
semchen malü ta yang dezhin té
我wǒ皆jiē供gòng养yǎng圆yuán满mǎn修xiū 以yǐ普pǔ贤xián行xíng悟wù菩pú提tí
As the boundless expanse of space;
ཇི་ཙམ་ལས་དང་ཉོན་མོངས་མཐར་གྱུར་པ། །
ji tsam lé dang nyönmong tar gyurpa
一yí切qiè如rú来lái有yǒu长zhǎng子zǐ
So shall my prayers of aspiration for them
བདག་གི་སྨོན་ལམ་མཐའ་ཡང་དེ་ཙམ་མོ། །
dak gi mönlam ta yang detsam mo
彼bǐ名míng号hào曰yuē普pǔ贤xián尊zūn
Be as limitless as their karma and harmful emotions!

གང་ཡང་ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་ཞིང་རྣམས་མཐའ་ཡས་པ། །
gangyang chok chü zhing nam tayepa
我wǒ今jīn回huí向xiàng诸zhū善shàn根gēn
Whoever hears this king of dedication prayers,
རིན་ཆེན་བརྒྱན་ཏེ་རྒྱལ་བ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕུལ། །
rinchen gyen té gyalwa nam la pul
愿yuàn诸zhū智zhì行xíng悉xī同tóng彼bǐ
And yearns for supreme enlightenment,
ལྷ་དང་མི་ཡི་བདེ་བའི་མཆོག་རྣམས་ཀྱང་། །
lha dang mi yi dewé chok nam kyang
愿yuàn身shēn口kǒu意yì恒héng清qīng净jìng 诸zhū行xíng刹chà土tǔ亦yì复fù然rán
Who even once arouses faith,
ཞིང་གི་རྡུལ་སྙེད་བསྐལ་པར་ཕུལ་བ་བས། །
zhing gi dul nyé kalpar pulwa bé
如rú是shì智zhì慧huì号hào普pǔ贤xián
Will gain true merit greater still
གང་གིས་བསྔོ་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་འདི་ཐོས་ནས། །
gang gi ngowé gyalpo di tö né
愿yuàn我wǒ与yǔ彼bǐ皆jiē同tóng等děng
Than by offering the victorious buddhas
བྱང་ཆུབ་མཆོག་གི་རྗེས་སུ་རབ་མོས་ཤིང་། །
changchub chok gi jesu rab mö shing
我wǒ为wèi遍biàn净jìng普pǔ贤xián行xíng
Infinite pure realms in every directions, all ornamented with jewels,
ལན་གཅིག་ཙམ་ཡང་དད་པ་བསྐྱེད་པ་ན། །
len chik tsam yang depa kyepa na
文wén殊shū师shī利lì诸zhū大dà愿yuàn
Or offering them all the highest joys of gods and humans
བསོད་ནམས་དམ་པའི་མཆོག་ཏུ་འདི་འགྱུར་རོ། །
sönam dampé chok tu di gyur ro
满mǎn彼bǐ事shì业yè尽jìn无wú余yú 未wèi来lái际jì劫jié恒héng无wú倦juàn
For as many aeons as there are atoms in those realms.
2. The Thirteen Benefits in Detail
གང་གིས་བཟང་སྤྱོད་སྨོན་ལམ་འདི་བཏབ་པས། །
gang gi zangchö mönlam di tabpé
我wǒ所suǒ修xiū行xíng无wú有yǒu量liàng
Whoever truly makes this Aspiration to Good Actions,
དེས་ནི་ངན་སོང་ཐམས་ཅད་སྤོང་བར་འགྱུར། །
dé ni ngensong tamché pongwar gyur
获huò得dé无wú量liàng诸zhū功gōng德dé
Will never again be born in lower realms;
དེས་ནི་གྲོགས་པོ་ངན་པ་སྤངས་བ་ཡིན། །
dé ni drokpo ngenpa pangwa yin
安ān住zhù无wú量liàng诸zhū行xíng中zhōng
They will be free from harmful companions, and
སྣང་བ་མཐའ་ཡས་དེ་ཡང་དེས་མྱུར་མཐོང་། །
nangwa tayé deyang dé nyur tong
了liǎo达dá一yí切qiè神shén通tōng力lì
Soon behold the Buddha of Boundless Light.
དེ་དག་རྙེད་པ་རབ་རྙེད་བདེ་བར་འཚོ། །
dedak nyepa rab nyé dewar tso
文wén殊shū师shī利lì勇yǒng猛měng智zhì 普pǔ贤xián慧huì行xíng亦yì复fù然rán
They will acquire all kind of benefits, and live in happiness;
མི་ཚེ་འདིར་ཡང་དེ་དག་ལེགས་པར་འོང་། །
mitsé dir yang dedak lekpar ong
我wǒ今jīn回huí向xiàng诸zhū善shàn根gēn
Even in this present life all will go well,
ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ་དེ་ཡང་ཅི་འདྲ་བར། །
kuntuzangpo deyang chindrawar
随suí彼bǐ一yí切qiè常cháng修xiū学xué
And before long,
དེ་དག་རིང་པོར་མི་ཐོགས་དེ་བཞིན་འགྱུར། །
dedak ringpor mitok dezhin gyur
三sān世shì诸zhū佛fó所suǒ称chēng叹tàn
They will become just like Samantabhadra.
མཚམས་མེད་ལྔ་པོ་དག་གི་སྡིག་པ་རྣམས། །
tsammé ngapo dak gi dikpa nam
如rú是shì最zuì胜shèng诸zhū大dà愿yuàn
All negative acts—even the five of immediate retribution—
གང་གིས་མི་ཤེས་དབང་གིས་བྱས་པ་དག །
gang gi mishe wang gi jepa dak
我wǒ今jīn回huí向xiàng诸zhū善shàn根gēn 为wèi得dé普pǔ贤xián殊shū胜shèng行xíng
Whatever they have committed in the grip of ignorance,
དེ་ཡིས་བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་འདི་བརྗོད་ན། །
dé yi zangpo chöpa di jö na
愿yuàn我wǒ临lín欲yù命mìng终zhōng时shí
Will soon be completely purified,
མྱུར་དུ་མ་ལུས་ཡོངས་སུ་བྱང་བར་འགྱུར། །
nyurdu malü yongsu jangwar gyur
尽jìn除chú一yí切qiè诸zhū障zhàng碍ài
If they recite this Aspiration to Good Actions.
ཡེ་ཤེས་དང་ནི་གཟུགས་དང་མཚན་རྣམས་དང་། །
yeshe dang ni zuk dang tsen nam dang
面miàn见jiàn彼bǐ佛fó阿ā弥mí陀tuó
They will possess perfect wisdom, beauty, and excellent signs,
རིགས་དང་ཁ་དོག་རྣམས་དང་ལྡན་པར་འགྱུར། །
rik dang khadok nam dang denpar gyur
即jí得dé往wǎng生shēng安ān乐lè刹chà 我wǒ即jí往wǎng生shēng彼bǐ国guó已yǐ
Be born in a good family, and with a radiant appearance.
བདུད་དང་མུ་སྟེགས་མང་པོས་དེ་མི་ཐུབ། །
dü dang mutek mangpö dé mitub
现xiàn前qián成chéng就jiù此cǐ大dà愿yuàn
Demons and heretics will never harm them,
འཇིག་རྟེན་གསུམ་པོ་ཀུན་ནའང་མཆོད་པར་འགྱུར། །
jikten sumpo kün na ang chöpar gyur
一yí切qiè圆yuán满mǎn尽jìn无wú余yú
And all three worlds will honour them with offerings.
བྱང་ཆུབ་ཤིང་དབང་དྲུང་དུ་དེ་མྱུར་འགྲོ། །
changchub shingwang drung du dé nyur dro
利lì乐lè一yí切qiè众zhòng生shēng界jiè
They will quickly go beneath the bodhi-tree,
སོང་ནས་སེམས་ཅན་ཕན་ཕྱིར་དེར་འདུག་སྟེ། །
song né semchen pen chir der duk té
彼bǐ佛fó众zhòng会huì咸xián清qīng净jìng
And there, they will sit, to benefit all sentient beings, then
བྱང་ཆུབ་སངས་རྒྱས་འཁོར་ལོ་རབ་ཏུ་བསྐོར། །
changchub sangye khorlo rabtu kor
我wǒ时shí于yú胜shèng莲lián华huā生shēng 亲qīn睹dǔ如rú来lái无wú量liàng光guāng
Awaken into enlightenment, turn the wheel of Dharma,
བདུད་རྣམས་སྡེ་དང་བཅས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་བཏུལ། །
dü nam dé dang chepa tamché tul
现xiàn前qián授shòu我wǒ菩pú提tí记jì
And tame Māra with all his hordes.
3. The Benefits in Brief
གང་ཡང་བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་འདི། །
gangyang zangpo chöpé mönlam di
蒙méng彼bǐ如rú来lái授shòu记jì已yǐ
The full result of keeping, teaching, or reading
འཆང་བ་དང་ནི་སྟོན་ཏམ་ཀློག་ན་ཡང་། །
changwa dang ni tön tam lok na yang
化huà身shēn无wú数shù百bǎi俱jù胝zhī
This Prayer of Aspiration to Good Actions
དེ་ཡི་རྣམ་པར་སྨིན་པའང་སངས་རྒྱས་མཁྱེན། །
dé yi nampar minpa ang sangye khyen
智zhì力lì广guǎng大dà遍biàn十shí方fāng
Is known to the buddhas alone:
བྱང་ཆུབ་མཆོག་ལ་སོམ་ཉི་མ་བྱེད་ཅིག །
changchub chok la somnyi majé chik
普pǔ利lì一yí切qiè众zhòng生shēng界jiè 乃nǎi至zhì虚xū空kōng世shì界jiè尽jìn
Have no doubt: supreme enlightenment will be yours!
Dedication of the Merits of this Meritorious Aspiration / 1. Dedication that Follows the Bodhisattvas
འཇམ་དཔལ་དཔའ་བོས་ཇི་ལྟར་མཁྱེན་པ་དང་། །
jampal pawö jitar khyenpa dang
众zhòng生shēng及jí业yè烦fán恼nǎo尽jìn
Just as the bodhisattva Mañjuśrī attained omniscience,
ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ་དེ་ཡང་དེ་བཞིན་ཏེ། །
kuntuzangpo deyang dezhin té
如rú是shì一yí切qiè无wú尽jìn时shí
And Samantabhadra too
དེ་དག་ཀུན་གྱི་རྗེས་སུ་བདག་སློབ་ཕྱིར། །
dedak kün gyi jesu dak lob chir
我wǒ愿yuàn究jiū竟jìng恒héng无wú尽jìn
All these merits now I dedicate
དགེ་བ་འདི་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་རབ་ཏུ་བསྔོ། །
gewa didak tamché rabtu ngo
十shí方fāng所suǒ有yǒu无wú边biān刹chà
To train and follow in their footsteps.
2. Dedication that Follows the Buddhas
དུས་གསུམ་གཤེགས་པའི་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས། །
dü sum shekpé gyalwa tamché kyi
庄zhuāng严yán众zhòng宝bǎo供gòng如rú来lái 最zuì胜shèng安ān乐lè施shī天tiān人rén
As all the victorious buddhas of past, present and future
བསྔོ་བ་གང་ལ་མཆོག་ཏུ་བསྔགས་པ་དེས། །
ngowa gangla chok tu ngakpa dé
经jīng一yí切qiè刹chà微wéi尘chén劫jié
Praise dedication as supreme,
བདག་གི་དགེ་བའི་རྩ་བ་འདི་ཀུན་ཀྱང་། །
dak gi gewé tsawa di kün kyang
若ruò人rén于yú此cǐ胜shèng愿yuàn王wáng
So now I dedicate all these roots of virtue
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་ཕྱིར་རབ་ཏུ་བསྔོ་བར་བགྱི། །
zangpo chö chir rabtu ngowar gyi
一yì经jīng于yú耳ěr能néng生shēng信xìn
For all beings to perfect Good Actions.
3. Dedication Towards Actualizing the Result
བདག་ནི་འཆི་བའི་དུས་བྱེད་གྱུར་པ་ན། །
dak ni chiwé dü jé gyurpa na
求qiú胜shèng菩pú提tí心xīn渴kě仰yǎng
When it is time for me to die,
སྒྲིབ་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དག་ནི་ཕྱིར་བསལ་ཏེ། །
dribpa tamché dak ni chir sal té
获huò胜shèng功gōng德dé过guò于yú彼bǐ 即jí常cháng远yuǎn离lí恶è知zhī识shí
Let all that obscures me fade away, so
མངོན་སུམ་སྣང་བ་མཐའ་ཡས་དེ་མཐོང་ནས། །
ngönsum nangwa tayé dé tong né
永yǒng离lí一yí切qiè诸zhū恶è道dào
I look on Amitābha, there in person,
བདེ་བ་ཅན་གྱི་ཞིང་དེར་རབ་ཏུ་འགྲོ། །
dewachen gyi zhing der rabtu dro
速sù见jiàn如rú来lái无wú量liàng光guāng
And go at once to his pure land of Sukhāvatī.
དེར་སོང་ནས་ནི་སྨོན་ལམ་འདི་དག་ཀྱང་། །
der song né ni mönlam didak kyang
具jù此cǐ普pǔ贤xián最zuì胜shèng愿yuàn
In that pure land, may I actualize every single one
ཐམས་ཅད་མ་ལུས་མངོན་དུ་འགྱུར་བར་ཤོག །
tamché malü ngön du gyurwar shok
此cǐ人rén善shàn得dé胜shèng寿shòu命mìng
Of all these aspirations!
དེ་དག་མ་ལུས་བདག་གིས་ཡོངས་སུ་བཀང་། །
dedak malü dak gi yongsu kang
此cǐ人rén善shàn来lái人rén中zhōng生shēng 此cǐ人rén不bù久jiǔ当dāng成chéng就jiù
May I fulfil them, each and every one,
འཇིག་རྟེན་ཇི་སྲིད་སེམས་ཅན་ཕན་པར་བགྱི། །
jikten jisi semchen penpar gyi
如rú彼bǐ普pǔ贤xián菩pú萨sà行xíng
And bring help to beings for as long as the universe remains!
4. Dedication Towards Receiving a Prophecy from the Buddhas
རྒྱལ་བའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་བཟང་ཞིང་དགའ་བ་དེར། །
gyalwé kyilkhor zang zhing gawa der
往wǎng昔xī由yóu无wú智zhì慧huì力lì
Born there in a beautiful lotus flower,
པདྨོ་དམ་པ་ཤིན་ཏུ་མཛེས་ལས་སྐྱེས། །
pemo dampa shintu dzé lé kyé
所suǒ造zào极jí恶è五wǔ无wú间jiàn
In that excellent and joyous buddha realm,
སྣང་བ་མཐའ་ཡས་རྒྱལ་བས་མངོན་སུམ་དུ། །
nangwa tayé gyalwé ngönsum du
诵sòng此cǐ普pǔ贤xián大dà愿yuàn王wáng 一yí念niàn速sù疾jí皆jiē消xiāo灭miè
May the Buddha Amitābha himself
ལུང་བསྟན་པ་ཡང་བདག་གིས་དེར་ཐོབ་ཤོག །
lungtenpa yang dak gi der tob shok
族zú姓xìng种zhǒng类lèi及jí容róng色sè
Grant me the prophecy foretelling my enlightenment!
5. Dedication Towards Serving Others
དེར་ནི་བདག་གིས་ལུང་བསྟན་རབ་ཐོབ་ནས། །
der ni dak gi lungten rab tob né
相xiàng好hǎo智zhì慧huì咸xián圆yuán满mǎn
Having received the prophecy there,
སྤྲུལ་པ་མང་པོ་བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་བརྒྱ་ཡིས། །
trulpa mangpo jewa trak gya yi
诸zhū魔mó外wài道dào不bù能néng摧cuī
With my billions of emanations,
བློ་ཡི་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་རྣམས་སུ་ཡང་། །
lo yi tob kyi chok chu nam su yang
堪kān为wéi三sān界jiè所suǒ应yīng供gòng
Sent out through the power of my mind,
སེམས་ཅན་རྣམས་ལ་ཕན་པ་མང་པོ་བགྱི། །
semchen nam la penpa mangpo gyi
速sù诣yì菩pú提tí大dà树shù王wáng 坐zuò已yǐ降xiáng伏fú诸zhū魔mó众zhòng
May I bring enormous benefit to sentient beings, in all the ten directions!
Conclusion
བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་བཏབ་པ་ཡི། །
zangpo chöpé mönlam tabpa yi
成chéng等děng正zhèng觉jué转zhuǎn法fǎ轮lún
Through whatever small virtues I have gained
དགེ་བ་ཅུང་ཟད་བདག་གིས་ཅི་བསགས་པ། །
gewa chungzé dak gi chi sakpa
普pǔ利lì一yí切qiè诸zhū含hán识shí
By reciting this “Aspiration to Good Actions”,
དེས་ནི་འགྲོ་བའི་སྨོན་ལམ་དགེ་བ་རྣམས། །
dé ni drowé mönlam gewa nam
若ruò人rén于yú此cǐ普pǔ贤xián愿yuàn
May the virtuous wishes of all beings’ prayers and aspirations
སྐད་ཅིག་གཅིག་གིས་ཐམས་ཅད་འབྱོར་བར་ཤོག །
kechik chik gi tamché jorwar shok
读dú诵sòng受shòu持chí及jí演yǎn说shuō
All be instantly accomplished!
གང་ཡང་བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་འདི་བསྔོས་པས། །
gangyang zangpo chöpa di ngöpé
果guǒ报bào唯wéi佛fó能néng证zhèng知zhī 决jué定dìng获huò胜shèng菩pú提tí道dào
Through the true and boundless merit
བསོད་ནམས་མཐའ་ཡས་དམ་པ་གང་ཐོབ་དེས། །
sönam tayé dampa gang tob dé
若ruò人rén诵sòng此cǐ普pǔ贤xián愿yuàn
Attained by dedicating this “Aspiration to Good Actions”,
འགྲོ་བ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཆུ་བོར་བྱིང་བ་རྣམས། །
drowa dukngal chuwor jingwa nam
我wǒ说shuō少shǎo分fēn之zhī善shàn根gēn
May all those now drowning in the ocean of suffering,
འོད་དཔག་མེད་པའི་གནས་རབ་འཐོབ་པར་ཤོག །
öpakmepé né rab tobpar shok
一yí念niàn一yí切qiè悉xī皆jiē圆yuán
Reach the supreme realm of Amitābha!
སྨོན་ལམ་རྒྱལ་པོ་འདི་དག་མཆོག་གི་གཙོ། །
mönlam gyalpo didak chok gi tso
成chéng就jiù众zhòng生shēng清qīng净jìng愿yuàn
May this King of Aspirations bring about
མཐའ་ཡས་འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་ལ་ཕན་བྱེད་ཅིང་། །
tayé drowa kün la pen jé ching
我wǒ此cǐ普pǔ贤xián殊shū胜shèng行xíng 无wú边biān胜shèng福fú皆jiē回huí向xiàng
The supreme aim and benefit of all infinite sentient beings;
ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོས་བརྒྱན་པའི་གཞུང་གྲུབ་སྟེ། །
kuntuzangpö gyenpé zhung drub té
普pǔ愿yuàn沉chén溺nì诸zhū众zhòng生shēng
May they perfect what is described in this holy prayer, uttered by Samantabhadra!
ངན་སོང་གནས་རྣམས་མ་ལུས་སྟོངས་པར་ཤོག །
ngensong né nam malü tongpar shok
速sù往wǎng无wú量liàng光guāng佛fó刹chà
May the lower realms be entirely emptied!
